I had my first experience with network marketing back in the 80′s… seems so long ago.
I kept hearing the stories of how people were “striking it rich” and doing nothing but mailing out postcards, cassette tapes, and sending people fax-on-demands… Wow! I’m really dating myself here. Well… there was one hype story after another and I got sucked in. Not sucked into the hype… well, sort of… but more sucked into the belief that if it could happen for anyone, it could happen for me too.
I’m a pretty confident person, so I decided to give it a try. Needless to say, at the beginning, I’d tried one company after another, after another… and I still hadn’t found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Now, I’ve always considered myself to have a normal level of intelligence, and able to follow instructions. So, I did everything I was told. Does any of this sound familiar to you?
- I made a list of 100 people for my upline to call
- I went to shopping malls and tried to ‘bump into’ ten new people every day… making sure I got their name and number before I left them.
- I mailed out 500 postcards every month to a list of people who said they wanted to make extra money… (I think they all lied)
- I attended hotel meetings faithfully… every week… and sometimes my guests even showed up!!
- I put people on 3-way calls, conference calls, (we weren’t doing webinars yet)
- I bought lists after list after list of leads… again… these were supposed to be people who said they wanted to make money or start a business
- I even got to the point where I was the one in front of the room doing the presentations at those big hotel meeting. Woohoo!!! Success, right?
I could go on and on, but I’m sure you get the picture. By the way… I even talked to all my family and friends about us ‘going to the top’ and ‘all getting rich together’. Unfortunately, very few of them bought it, but — they did watch me for years talk about how I was going to get rich in MLM and they’d better join me or get left behind. When it didn’t happen, they started a running joke about me… Ros is still chasing that imaginary rainbow looking for her pot of gold.
But I was stubborn. I had met people that I knew made really good money in network marketing and I was just crazy enough to hold on to that hope of it some day happening for me.
Now here’s what may surprise you. Those things that I mentioned earlier… I actually had success with them. So don’t fall for the new hype these days where they tell you that these things don’t work. They work, you just have to work harder to make them work. But I had a hard lesson to learn, and I truly had to learn it the hard way. Even though these systems did work, they absolutely DID NOT DUPLICATE!
So that pot of gold didn’t start to show up until I switched reels and started doing the things that you’ll learn about on this website.
HOW DID IT FINALLY START TO HAPPEN FOR ME?
I’ll give you the short of it.I kept searching online, clicking on one thing after another until I came upon one site in particular that caught my interest. As I kept reading through it, it made so much sense to me that I felt I had found something really new that no one knew about. Little did I know, that almost everybody knew about it, but many people weren’t doing anything with it.
I contacted the person who owned the website, and after a heart-to-heart talk, I decided to see if this guy could help me to do what he was doing. And believe it or not, he actually did.
He showed me how I could do my network marketing business on autopilot without trying to sell or convince anybody of anything. I wouldn’t have to do the lists, the home parties or meetings ever again. Even though I was certain what the industry could do, I wasn’t sure about these “new” methods, but again… I had tried everything else so… why not.
To keep my story shorter still, before long I had doubled the income I was generating the old way… and better still, people on my team who weren’t making any money before, started to see income and they were excited. Now I’m on to something!
We were doing better and growing faster after a few months than we had done in a few years! I realized than that I had finally found my little pot of gold and yes — you guessed it. Those that were teasing me were starting to take note.
After I started using this new system, I become one of the top producers with my primary company. I thought it was a fluke when I’d heard that that would happen, but they were right. It does happen — when you follow the system!
Now, I use the same things I’ve learned to help those who work with me find the same success that I found. You know the saying… “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”… or something to that affect.
I simply found a plan, followed the instructions, and implemented it throughout my team… AND IT WORKED! Now, I realize that this page is not supposed to be about a “system” and it’s not. This is an “about me” page. But to be honest, the story of “me” would be so different without the system that brought me the success that I experience today… so I had to let you know how this “me” came to be.
I thank God every day for allowing me to find that website. Now I truly get to do my passion, which is help as many people that I can live a better life by having enough money to do whatever it is they want or need to do.
